Spring, Summer and now Fall

Its been forever, I know, but what can I say, I have three kids and a full-time nursing student husband that I never see, so life around these parts is a little crazy most days. I just wanted to catch you up on our life since the littlest Grant arrived here to our family. Evelyn was born in May and has been a Joy ever since.

Two weeks after she was born Charlie and I bought a house in Idaho Falls. It is a wonderful home and we have enjoyed every second that we have been in it(except for the hobo's..dont like spiders one bit!!!). It was a bit crazy moving with a new baby but somehow we managed and we are so glad to have the space. Charlie has the summer off from school so that was so fun to see him and have him around more to help. We are thankful for all of the furniture and things that the McFadden family(previous owners) left for us. It has been fun for me to decorate and put things up that have been in boxes for years!! I even made my first set of curtains(a huge thanks to Aunt Kate) for my bedroom. I started another set for the living room yesterday. I am excited to see how they turn out. We have a fantastic yard that is a lot of work, but I am excited for the challenge. Next summer is my outside projects summer. I need a gardening book for sure!!

At the beginning of August we packed our bags, loaded up the car and started driving to SLC where we had reservation to stay in a hotel and go to Lagoon for a few days. When we got the SLC we decided to keep on going all the way to CALIFORNIA!! It was so spontaneous and crazy but it was so much fun. We had kinda talked about going weeks before and decided against it, but then we just did it. I was a bit grumpy almost the whole way there. Any of you women out there reading this might understand that having a new baby and two other kids to take care of in the car for 15 hours isnt the best of times! The baby and the kids were so great the whole way there. We stayed the week in San Deigo and went to the zoo and Sea World, saw the Braves play the Padres, LegoLand and of course, the beach! I am so glad that we went because now Charlie is back in school with no break until he graduates next Christmas.

In August our Isabel started the First Grade! She is such a great daughter and I love having her around. She was bored and ready to go, but its hard for me to have her gone all day. I just miss her, but I know it is where she need to be. It is so nice to have the school right in our neighborhood and it starts at 9:00. A fabulous time for sure! She has been so brave trying all the school lunches for the first few weeks. She now asks for a cold lunch when certain foods come around again. =) Its been so fun to hear her talk about things and experience all day school. I love her and am so glad that she is part of our family.

Vaughn is my little helper now at home. He is all boy and shows me that everyday. I have never seen so much toy wacking and banging, mess making, yelling, and dirt digging in my entire life, but I guess I wouldn't have it any other way. He is just as sweet as he is crazy and I am so thankful to be able to spend more time with him these past months. I am proud to say that I can build a mean Lego airplane in no time!

And last but not least our little baby girl is now 4 month on the 27th of this month. Evelyn is such a joyful and sweet addition to our family. She is all smiles and drools these days, and will put just about anything she can get her chubby paws on, in her mouth. She just found her feet this week and its so adorable to watch her stare at those toes of her and grab them and try to eat them. Its priceless and I love it! She has been rolling over for weeks now and is finally starting to enjoy actually being on her tummy. Hooray for mom not to have to rescue everytime she rolls over. She is getting so big and I am loving to squeeze and kiss her as much as I can.

Charlie is back in school and learing so much. He started his first rotation at the hospital this week and it has been so fun to hear all that he is learning. He looks so cute in his scrubs. i love it! I would love to go to nursing school someday and we are going to travel with Doctors without borders and help people around the world. I have to get him through school and then its my turn again. I sure miss having him around, but I know this is where his profession needs to be and it will be so worth the efforts. I have to remind myself A LOT that I am a lucky to be a mom that has beautiful, healthy children and that I get to stay at home and clean up messes and wipe poopy bums all day. I really am greatful for all that I have.

That is all for this post. I have to get to bed! Duty calls in the morning ready and rested or not!!I will post some pictures of the summer and the baby soon. Goodnight!
